It is with great sadness that we have to announce the untimely death of Mick
Wokes, a member of long standing, after a short illness, he passed away on the morning of the 20th of June.
Mick had been a member of the club on and off for at least 30 years, I'm saying
that cos I can't have been that old hen I first met him, and in all that time I don't think I ever saw him loose his rag over a game, which made him a very
rare individual indeed. He even carried this outlook on life to the other side,
having thrown himself back into re-enactment after a period away, rising to the rank of ensign in Edward Montagu's Regiment in the English Civil War Society.
It may seem a little cliche, but Mick was one of the nicest people you could have ever met, and although it is a little bit sureal at the moment, the club
will definately have less laughter at the tables.
Thank you for taking the time to pop in to our new look site. You may have been redirected from the old site. The old site is being put out to pasture. (well to be honest we have locked it in a dark room and not feeding it, we will not be renewing the contract, so it will be defunct by the end of July). This is simply because we are all a bit simple when it comes to computers and this site offers a simple way of keeping the website up to date.
We hope that you find our site both useful and informative with both details of our club and the FIASCO show that we run.
The Club meets every Wednesday night and the occasional Sunday (by pre-arrangement). Our Calender page has details of game nights and special events.
We meet at the New Headingley Club on St Michaels road in Headingley, Leeds, not far from both the Rugby and Cricket grounds. Club nights start around 7.00pm and is usually finished about 11.00pm, the club has a well stocked bar at very reasonable prices and a large car park. For those using public transport, the area is well served local buses from most parts of Leeds. The full club address is shown below.
Either ring the buzzer on the front door and make your way to the function room at the rear or come round the the fire exit and knock on the door there (that leads straight in to the function room)
We have our own Yahoo Discussion Group so come on and join the group to arrange a game or chat. Alternatively e-mail us at email@example.com
